When their dad took a job in Japan, livewire Holly Tyler (Amanda Bynes) and her straight-laced sister, Valerie (Jennie Garth), moved in together in New York City where Holly manages to unravel Val’s well-ordered life in no time at all.

Born and raised in Illinois on her parents' 25-acre horse farm, Garth skyrocketed to stardom when she landed the role of Kelly Taylor in Beverly Hills 90210. She moved to Phoenix, Arizona when she was 13 with her parents and six siblings and met her manager at a local beauty pageant. She then convinced her mother and father that she needed to move to Los Angeles to pursue and acting career. Her first role was in A Brand New Life opposite Barbara Eden. At 17, Garth dazzled producer Aaron Spelling, who hired her to play the role of Kelly Taylor before she even made it back to her vehicle. In 1996, Garth executive produced and starred in the television show An Unfinished Affair, where she met her future husband, actor Peter Facinelli. Garth divides her time between her Los Angeles residence and her ranch in Northern California with her family.

Born and raised in California, Bynes has worked in Hollywood steadily since the age of 10 and became the youngest performer to host her own variety sketch show (The Amanda Show) at the age of 12. Her first leading role came in the form of What A Girl Wants, co-starring Colin Firth and Kelly Preston in 2003, for which she received a Kids' Choice Award. That same year she was on the cover of Vanity Fair magazine's “It's Totally Raining Teens” feature. Other notable television and film appearances include, All That, Big Fat Liar, Robots, and She's The Man.
A San Francisco native, Rex is best known for his work as an MTV veejay and for playing a sexy art student who wooed Keri Russell's character on The WB's Felicity. He began his career as a model when he was 18 years old by landing a print campaign for Tommy Hilfiger. In addition to Felicity, Rex's body of work includes The WB's Jack and Jill, as well as films like, The Forsaken, Going Greek, and crime drama Unleashed. He currently lives in Los Angeles and spends his free time playing basketball, seeing movies, working out, listening to music and drawing.
In addition to his role as Gary on The WB's What I Like About You, Jonathan's body of work includes the films High School High, Unlawful Entry, Panther, and The United States of Leland opposite Kevin Spacey. He was born in Walnut Creek, California and was only 4 when his family relocated to Germany. When the family returned to the U.S. a mere 3 years later, his mother knew he was going to be a performer. His first on screen role was in a Melissa Manchester music video at the age of 7. The following year he made a guest appearance on 21 Jump Street and has worked consistently from that point on.

A Los Angeles native, Grossman got her start in Hollywood on The WB's Popular, however her first foray into the biz was as a director in a High School play. She switched gears from wanting to direct to wanting to act during her senior year at college. Grossman has appeared on the big screen in such films as Can't Hardly Wait, Miss Congeniality 2, and The Opposite of Sex opposite Lisa Kudrow. Besides her role as Lauren on What I Like About You, Grossman has been seen on shows including the HBO comedy Real Friends, Nip/Tuck, CSI, and Any Day Now.
